The Importance of Eyebrows

Over the years, we’ve seen the shape and fullness of eyebrows change and evolve. Natural brows used to be all the rage, but then we saw the fad of long, thin eyebrows rise. For a while, we were all plucking our eyebrows until there were hardly any hairs left at all. Now, we have moved back towards a natural, full brow.

Unfortunately for some of us, our eyebrows haven’t quite recovered from the trauma that the 90-s and early 2000s brought to them. That leaves our brows looking somewhat scraggly and shapeless, which is most definitely not the current look that most of us are going for.

While this may all seem like a fashion trend that we’re giving into, eyebrows are actually much more important than we give them credit for. If you’re having a hard time understanding why people invest so much into the appearance of their eyebrows, keep reading. In today’s blog post, the team at iBrows Studio is going to go over a few of the reasons that eyebrows are so important to the face.

Frame the Eyes

Eyes are often the first feature that a person will look at when talking to someone. Whether it’s the first time that you’ve met or it’s someone that you know dearly, it’s hard not to pay attention to this part of the face. While there are gorgeous colored eyes and it’s simply good courtesy to hold eye contact, the real reason that we pay so much attention to eyes is because the eyebrows frame the eyes and draw our attention to them.

With well-groomed eyebrows, it’s difficult to look anywhere but the eyes. This individual purpose is just one of the reasons that so many are going for the fuller brow with sharp angles.

Rewind Time

For those of you looking to take a couple of years off your appearance, a different shaped eyebrow could make all the difference. Believe it or not, but there are certain shapes that will brighten up the face creating a more youthful look. If you’re looking for something that’s natural to help rewind time, try a different shape for your face.

Flatter Your Face Shape

Each of us was born with a particular face shape, and each of those face shapes has both pros and cons that come with it. Regardless of what your face shape may be, your eyebrows contribute to your full aesthetic. With that in mind, the shape that you choose for your eyebrows can help to accentuate certain features and draw attention away from others. This trick, when done right, helps to flatter the shape of your face. So, if you’ve had a difficult time falling in love with the face shape that you were born with, consider a different shape for your brow. It could make all the difference!

As we mentioned earlier, eyebrows are frames for the eyes, but that isn’t the only feature that they can help draw attention to. Eyebrows are capable of bringing dramatic attention to all parts of your face, both good and bad, so it’s best to find a brow shape that suits your face.
